The landscape of social change is different now than ever before. In a spectacular way, innovative thinkers are making a difference through social entrepreneurship; the act of powerfully harnessing ideas to create change for the better.

  • These thought leaders of social entrepreneurship aren’t world famous, rather regular people with an outstanding vision for the way things could be.

Among these thought leaders, there is an outstanding movement of women making a difference. Why? Because the role of women in the workplace is changing, and the workplace must change as we do.

How Does Social Entrepreneurship Work?

Unlike the traditional model of business where success is measured in the expansion rate of a growing business, social entrepreneurship is measured differently.

  • The business success of a social entrepreneurship is measured by the changes made to larger economic and social problems.
  • Social entrepreneurs challenge the very systems that marginalize people, so success is measured when these systems are changed enough to begin seeing solutions take shape.

Shattering The Glass Ceiling

Women, more than our male counterparts, are socially-minded. Women have long engaged in and dominated social roles, making the jump to social entrepreneurship an easy one.

  • Female entrepreneurs are finding more success in social enterprises than traditional businesses, carving out a place where the glass ceiling can be shattered and finding success in their career , all while creating a better community for future generations.

Rather than struggling to find success in the male-dominated business world, women are carving out a niche for themselves and finding ways to target inaction. This isn’t a matter of finding business success, but rather an inspiring journey to make the world a better place.

Putting Passion To Work

Woman-led social entrepreneurship tackles a number of important problems. For one, social entrepreneurship benefits communities by finding crucial solutions to a wide range of global issues. Social entrepreneurs tackle these problems while also directly stimulating economic growth. When women enter into the business world, they are more likely to identify their passion for social change and achieve their goals. Women in these roles challenge the way that we see such social issues as poverty, crime, global health concerns and environmental issues.

The more success that women find in the business of social change, the more likely women are to get involved and make a difference, while also making a living.

This movement is challenging what we think we know about the role of a woman in a leadership position.

In India, Africa and China, female social entrepreneurs are transforming the lives of the marginalized and underprivileged, finding new ways to guide social change. Right here in our own community there are incredible women making a difference in the lives of those who need it most, and we are looking for those women.
