I have confessed before that I am a research nerd. I love news and finding new tools that make businesses run better. I am currently in love with a variety of content curation tools that I use to manage my social media content. So here is my weekly round up featuring curation as my number 1 love:
-
Curation tools & My Fave Pic: Listly
The top curation tool I have found this week is Listly – it allows you to make lists and embed them on your site. I created one for Women in Biz Network – Best Women’s Organizations. See what we have listed first here and submit your suggestions through Listly in the above link.

Cate Blanchett’s Acceptance Speech
I stay up way to late last night to watch the Oscars. If you haven’t heard it then I recommend you do – as it is soooooo inspiring. I was cheering! Here is my fave part “……..For so bravely and intelligently distributing the film and to the audiences who went to see it and perhaps those of us in the industry who are still foolishly clinging to the idea that female films with women at the center are niche experiences. They are not. Audiences want to see them and, in fact, they earn money. The world is round, people.”
Is she not super awesome – my new girl crush!

Meetup Site Hacked
Meetup’s co-founder and CEO, Scott Heiferman, said on the company’s blog that it was the first such attack in the site’s 12-year history. He defended themove not to pay the paltry ransom.
“We made a decision not to negotiate with criminals,” he said. “Payment could make us (and all well-meaning organizations like us) a target for further extortion demands as word spread in the criminal world.”
Ouch…. That’s one big stand to take. I had my site go down for a few days – hacked by “bots” – it was very scary. I feel for Meetup. Read more here

Canada’s Richest People
Sorry gals sadly our sex isn’t top on the list. But interesting to look at non the less. Canada’s not at the top either. Most interesting is the list of Forbes List of Richest Women
Given that I have maritime blood in my veins this one doesn’t seem like such a bad idea. I would love to live close to the sea – I could be closer to my family and on my way to Europe right? The story caught my eye. Would you move east to a slower pace – better job prospects? I find it hard to believe jobs could be more plentiful but ya never know!
