OUR TEAM

Leigh Mitchell, Leadership & Marketing Strategist, knows firsthand how isolating it can feel to run a business or lead a social enterprise. Early in building her company, she longed for connection
and shared understanding. These experiences inspired her to start the Women in Biz Network and later ChangeMakerCo.org, both built
as supportive spaces for purpose-driven leaders who wanted to grow together rather than go it alone.

Through ChangeMakerCo.org, Leigh and her team provide impact-driven training, networking, and retreats that help leaders strengthen their organizations, manage change with confidence, and build inclusive, forward-looking cultures. Their programs blend leadership developmentchange management, and equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) with a deep focus on mental health and well-being.

One of the cornerstones of her work is the ChangeMaker Outdoor Leadership Retreats, where leaders step outside of their routines to reset, reconnect, and recharge in nature. These retreats help participants cultivate clarity, resilience, and authentic leadership while fostering a strong sense of community and support.

With over 15 years of experience supporting everyone from grassroots innovators to Fortune 500 companies like Microsoft Canada, TELUS, and TD, Leigh brings practical insight and strategic guidance to organizations navigating transformation. She also teaches Business and Digital Marketing at York University and the University of Guelph-Humber. She hosts ChangeMaker Leader Podcast, where she shares inspiring stories and practical tools for building resilient, connected teams.

Recognized by Statistics Canada as an EDI subject matter expert and honoured with the Forbes Impact Top 10 Award, Leigh is passionate about helping social enterprises thrive profitably, inclusively, and with lasting impact.
